Vaahto Ltd Delivers Board Machine Rebuild to Iggesund Paperboard

Finnish paper machinery manufacturer Vaahto Ltd, a member of Vaahto Group, has got a major order from Swedish Iggesund Paperboard Ltd. to deliver a rebuild of KM2 paperboard machine. Iggesund Paperboard is known as quality producer of coated graphic packaging boards.

Vaahto will deliver a new three-ply wire section including two new headboxes. One of the headboxes will be equipped with dilution water control. The board machine has a wire width of 5,1 meters and operates at max. speed of 600 meters in minute. The scope of delivery includes also rebuild of the dryer section and equipment and pipes for the water circulations. Vaahto is responsible for the engineering, production, erection, training and start-up of the machine.

Iggesund Paperboard is part of Holmen Group and it has announced in a press release on the seventh of December 2005 that it will invest in Iggesund mill total of 415 million SEK. The target of the investment is to increase production capacity and improve product quality. Mr. Björn Kvick, Managing Director of Iggesund Paperboard, says that with the wire section rebuild the company will ensure its position as a leading producer of high quality graphic paperboards.

Iggesund Paperboard has also board machine in Workington, UK. The wire section of Workington PM1 was rebuilt by Vaahto in 2004.

Vaahto will manufacture main part of the goods in Vaahto production sites at Hollola and Tampere in Finland. The engineering of the project starts immediately and deliveries will take place in late summer 2007. The rebuilt machine will be started up in October 2007.
