Vaahto Pulp & Paper Machinery selected to rebuild Metsä Tissue’s tissue-paper machine of Mänttä

VAAHTO PULP & PAPER MACHINERY SELECTED TO REBUILD METSÄ TISSUE’S TISSUE-PAPER MACHINE OF MÄNTTÄ

Vaahto Pulp & Paper Machinery has received an order of value about 5 million euros from Metsä Tissue Oyj. PM10 of Mänttä mill is the biggest tissue-papermachine in Finland. Machine produces toilet and household base paper for consumer brands Serla and Lambi.

The investment includes new Crecent –former, headbox and reel. Short circulation, press section and automation will be revamped as part of the project. Installation, training and start-up services are essential parts of the delivery. Equipment will be manufactured in Vaahto´s workshops in Hollola and Tampere.

The rebuild will take place during the first half of 2010. The target of the rebuild is to improve the company’s branded product quality further.

Metsä Tissue is a leading supplier of tissue and cooking papers to households and large-scale consumers in Europe. The company’s main brands are Lambi, Serla, Mola, Tento, Katrin and Fasana. Metsä Tissue has production in Finland, Germany, Poland, Russia, Slovakia and Sweden and employs some 3200 people. The company’s sales in 2008 were 930 million euros. Metsä Tissue is part of the Metsäliitto Group.
