UTG Mixing Group´s design philosophy is “fit for purpose over the entire lifecycle”.
The key is to understand the intended purpose of the agitator and then find a design to fulfil that purpose. Mixing solutions cannot be found through theory alone, because even the best theories have some gaps. These gaps need to be filled with experience, statistics and tests. In demanding industrial processes, agitators are key elements whose reliability is essential for the competitiveness of our customers.
Basic Engineering
UTG serves customers by making the preliminary design applicable to their specific plants and calculating project viability. With decades of experience in a wide range of processes, we can deliver precise budgetary proposals and dimensions and process data quickly.
Research and Development
Give us a mixing problem and we can solve it for you. Tests are often required to obtain process data inputs, such as the required residence time or suspension rheology.
We offer in-house experience and state of the art facilities. Our modern technical center, the UTG Mixing Technology R&D Center, is used for testing and has test stands available for every possible arrangement with different container sizes in glass and stainless steel versions. The containers can also be cooled or heated. Our stirring systems include axial, radial, tangential and counterflow stirrers that cover a viscosity range up to 1 million mPas.

When you want to compare different solutions, our product range and experience enable us to provide you fast track commercial and technical comparisons. For performance comparisons, desktop studies are often insufficient and require laboratory tests
Process Design
Process design should be done as a team, combining the customer’s needs and process data with our experience in mixing. Unknown fluid properties can be clarified at our competence center, which can also test various reactions, such as the oxidation rate and fermentation rate. Our expertise is not limited to agitators; we can also help with the reactor design, such as the aspect ratio, baffles, heat exchangers and inlet out nozzles, as well as cleaning procedures.
PROCESS ANALYSIS SERVICES >>Validation
When developing something new, validation of the process design should be done as risk mitigation. Lab tests and numerical simulations (CFD) are efficient means of validation, but sometimes full-scale test runs are also required.
